Breath Freely: Asthma Management Workshop

This one-session course will provide participants with tools to help manage asthma. Topics include asthma symptoms, triggers, correct use of asthma medicines, creating an asthma plan, and more. This class is in Spanish.

An effective type of aerobic activity. It improves participants' cardiovascular fitness and may improve strength and flexibility. / Un tipo efectivo de actividad aerobica. Mejora la condicion cardiovascular de los participantes y puede mejorar la fuerza y la flexibilidad.

Cooking Matters

A series of food preparation and cooking demonstration for adults that will go over the benefits of fruits and vegetables, healthy snacks to make at home, the importance of protein intake, and much more.

Yoga

Yoga class that focuses on movement and supports with posture and breathing techniques. Participants must wear proper workout attire and tennis shoes to participate in any physical exercise classes. Participants arriving 15 minutes after the start of any class may not be admitted.

The upcoming resource fair in April is to provide families with resources for children ages 0-5. It will also be held in celebration of Black Maternal Health Awareness Week.

100 grocery bags are distributed, containing fresh produce and can goods. This event is while supplies last.

Pick up one pack of free diapers for sizes newborn to size 6! Only one pack per child, while supplies last. Child must be present or participants must provide date of birth. Call (213) 428-1410 for more information!

My Rewards for a Healthy Life is a program where you can earn rewards for participating in a variety of health education classes at our Community Resource Centers. After participating in six health education classes, you are eligible for a premium gift.
